When people say, ‘if you want something done well, give it to a busy person,’ they might be talking about commercial real estate agent and broker Lindsey Smith. Her go-getter attitude has gained the attention of movers and shakers in business and charitable sectors, and they always seem to want Lindsey on their teams.
In November 2011, just in time for her 30th birthday, Lindsey founded San Diego Office Properties. Lindsey’s approach to business has been the foundation for her significant success at such a young age: “It’s more than the business; it’s the people behind it.” She takes the time to treat each client as a partner, finding an office and lease that match their strategy, culture and budget, ensuring a perfect fit. Lindsey spends as much time on building relationships as she does on negotiations.
Lindsey’s background has positioned her well for starting a new company. For eight years she worked at international commercial real estate giants CB Richard Ellis and Cassidy Turley. Her tenure at Cassidy Turley was in that company’s commercial office division working as a leasing agent and a key member of the local team

My name is Maria Psihogios and I am currently in my third year of Medical School at the University of Ottawa, Canada. I recently started my clinical placements and am enjoying the journey to the fullest; working with patients has taught me lessons far beyond those of pathology and physiology. I’ve gained invaluable insight into the therapeutic relationship between patient and doctor, about the psychosocial determinants of health and the practice of medicine as not only a science but also an art. Both passionate about medicine and working with youth and children, my aspiration is to fuse both these areas of interest together and become a pediatrician “when I grow up”. I am an advocate for empowering others to lead healthy lives in a holistic manner that allows them to enjoy the utmost wellbeing and self-fulfillment. I recently started my own blog, Positively Profession-elle, in order to put my love for creative writing to good use by sharing my own perspective and experiences when it comes to finding balance between work and life. Essentially a blog dedicated to all young women who are on the great journey of achieving their dreams in life, who are infinitesimally passionate about something in life that drives them to make a difference in our world, who are willing to go the extra mile to reach their full potential. Over the years I have involved myself with research in mental health as well as immersed myself in work pertaining to health prevention and promotion for both the young and young at heart. I also greatly enjoy travelling, the study of languages and experiencing new cultures through music, dance and cuisine; I’ve thus taken on a number of leadership roles in the setting of cultural associations and most recently engaged in a medical placement and cultural immersion program in Greece. I feel blessed for the support of my friends and family and consider enjoying a coffee with friends in a cozy coffee shop as one of my favorite activities. I strongly believe that with a bit of creativity, a tad of inspiration, a classy set of pearls and an occasional, perfectly-made café mocha, anything is possible! Website | Facebook

[dropdown_box expand_text=’Carrie Caruthers ‘ show_more=”” show_less=”” start=”hide”]
Carrie Caruthers – I am mother of three adventurous, curious and amazing children. My husband, of 18 ½ years and I, were quickly educated on parental multi-tasking when our twin sons were born 8 weeks premature. The doctor told us they were healthy and just was just simply ready to start their lives. Now, 11 years later they have not stopped. We were further blessed in April 2007 when we traveled to China to bring our beautiful 6-month daughter home to complete our family. Our children keep us busy with all their academic, church and sports activities. My second full time job is at American Century Investments as the Business Manager for Priority Investors. This year I will celebrate 15 years with this amazing company. In my spare time I serve as Chairperson on the Advisory Board for Bright Futures Harrisonville and serve as Secretary for Bright Futures USA Board of Directors. Our mission is to help bring communities together to serve the needs of children throughout their adolescence years and to help them grow to their fullest potential. Our goal is to provide a framework that will connect businesses, human services agencies, faith-based organizations and parents in a partnership with the schools. This allows school administrators and educators to leverage the synergy of these groups when a child need is identified and to have it filled within 24 hours. We have expanded to 5 states and have over 20 community affiliates with several more communities, in several states, looking to become an affiliate. As a child of poverty and abuse, I have first-hand experience of what it is like to go without shoes, coats, hats, gloves, food or other basic needs that can overshadow a child’s ability to fully function at school. I remember how difficult it was to fit in because I wore dirty close, or sitting through class counting the minutes to lunch to have my one meal of the day. Many times I wanted just one person to notice me and rescue me. Because of my past, I aspire to be the voice of children who have been silenced by abuse; to give hope for our future generations and help them reach their greatest potential. Twitter

My interests range from fashion and beauty to food, social media, and entrepreneurship. My goal is to become a “Jack of all Trades.” I love challenges and making meaningful differences with the companies that I work with and the people that I encounter. Although most women have a “passion for fashion”, I see it more than just cute clothes, shoes, and bags. I find joy and excitement from the details, the construction, and design of couture wear and the practicality and accessibility of ready-to-wear. My major influences in fashion have come from my mother and my grandmother who have both worked in the styling and fashion industries. In the future I would like to gain experience in ecommerce, marketing, and buying and planning within the fashion industry. I also plan on going back to school in order to pursue obtaining my MBA. For now I am enjoying my last semester in college and am on the hunt for jobs in San Diego and the perfect puppy (preferably a corgi!) to keep me company while I start on my journey to real adult life! She’s worked in computers (Apollo Computer, Apple Computer), networking (Auspex Systems, CoSine Communications), storage (SanDisk), and cloud (Egnyte). She transitioned in 2004 from designing computer systems to managing technical communications and cross-company projects after she realized that her communication and managements skills were a cut above other engineers. She is now applying those skills to running her own business. After doing some consulting in Technical Marketing and meeting several entrepreneurs in the field of professional organizing, she realized that there was a real need for people to get their computer and mobile systems in order in order to free up their time for their work and families. This is ideal work for her to do as it utilizes her technical and her planning skills. Patricia’s mission is to enable women to feel empowered, rather than overwhelmed, with their technology. There’s nothing that Patricia hates more than to hear an intelligent, capable woman express the feeling that she’s “dumb” when it comes to technology. After a few working sessions with Patricia, her clients tend to feel much more relaxed and comfortable with their technology as well as experiencing a world of improvement in productivity. She thinks this can be done on many levels. Some people choose to be terrific moms, some lead food drives for the homeless on the weekends. Some take care of our elderly family members or friends, and some lead organizations to raise awareness for important causes. Both loud and quite philanthropy are important, and she believes we’re all hard-wired as human beings to want to help others.
