Hello SOTGC community,
One of the common sources of inspiration that I find among women, especially in male dominated industries, is a resource group that fosters creativity, innovation, and A platform for networking for the high potential women in that company.
Some companies will have an organized group that you can join and offers ways to develop both professionally as well as personally. If those exist in your company, that can be a great way to not only advance your career goals, but to seek inspiration and mentorship from women who can help you along the way. If you know there is something else you want, but don’t have an idea what those goals are, this is also a great way to surround yourself with women who can help you find that next step and open opportunities to achieve that.
For those of you who don’t have these organized resource groups in your company, you can always sit down with your direct manager to ask about starting it yourself. I suggest that you come to them with a plan for the goals and purpose of the development group that you’d like to start, and ask how you can help create this to foster development and innovation in your company.
