Every Woman Should Know Her Options

Hello SOTGC community,

Here is our latest “Monthly Must Have” for all you ladies who are looking to create financial freedom, learn how to invest and grow the money you work so hard to earn, and get a leg up on how to accumulate money for retirement.

The fabulous Laurie Itkin (a.k.a. “The Options Lady”) has been a SOTGC contributor since the beginning and she is our first lady who is achieving stardom in her industry.

Who is Laurie Itkin?

Laurie Itkin founded The Options Lady to educate and empower women and couples to take control of their finances, become successful investors, and grow the money they work so hard to earn.  She is also a financial advisor and money manager at Coastwise Capital Group.

Laurie is author of Every Woman Should Know Her Options:  Invest Your Way to Financial Empowerment, a regular contributor to DailyWorth and Nerd Wallet, and a contributing author at Stilettos on the Glass Ceiling.  She has appeared on Fox News and several San Diego news channels and has been quoted in the Wall Street Journal’s MarketWatch.

Laurie graduated from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania in 1990 with a B.S. in economics and a concentration in finance.  She started investing at 24 with a $1,600 inheritance from her grandmother and built a $1M portfolio before she turned 40.

What inspired you to write Every Woman Should Know Her Options?

I saw a need in the marketplace for a book that would take women beyond general “personal finance” such as budgeting and saving for retirement and teach them how to grow their money through smart investment strategies.  Most investing books are written by men for men and tend to be dry, complicated, and intimidating for many women.  There are so many hard-working professional women who have thousands of dollars in cash losing value every year to inflation because they don’t know how (or think they don’t have time) to invest it.  I wanted to solve that problem.

Top 3 takeaways & benefits from people who read this book:

Learn how to:

  • Grow your money by investing like the pros
  • Stop paying high fees on your investments such as mutual funds
  • Overcome obstacles women face in achieving financial independence

Where can we purchase the book and connect with you?
