Hello SOTGC community,
It’s often said that the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over while expecting a different result.
The same thing can be applied to your thoughts. Since your results always prove what you’ve been thinking, if you’ve been expecting something different to happen in your life, but you’re still thinking the same old stuff … it just won’t happen.
Most of you believe it’s your life circumstances that create your results and determine your life destiny, but it’s not. It’s how you think about them and the meaning you apply to them that determines everything.
Have you ever met two people with similar backgrounds who work in a similar position? The person who is a positive thinker does very well in her career, while the other person, a constant complainer and negative thinker, always gets passed over for promotions.
This is a great example of how your thoughts impact your results. It also reminds you that you have the power to create a new result at any time by changing your thoughts.
Here are 3 steps to creating your new result.
- Manage Your Mind
Your mind is the equivalent of a two-year old running around with a pair of scissors. It can be dangerous if you don’t learn to manage it. Start by listening to any limiting thoughts you’re having. Write down any common thoughts. Notice any patterns in your thinking and the results you’ve been getting.
2. Choose a Better Thought
Your thoughts are everything! Once you see how your thoughts have been impacting your life, ask yourself … why have you been choosing to think that way? “Why” is one of my favorite coaching questions. It can give you so much insight. Then choose better thoughts that will empower you and your new goals.
3. Create a New Plan of Action
Set new goals around your new thoughts and beliefs. Belief being the key word here. You must believe your new empowering thoughts. These thoughts are what will drive you to create your new results. Then start creating a plan of action, and then get busy. You must take action on your plan to see your new results happen.
