Hello SOTGC community,
Have you ever watched someone slowly give up on their big dreams?
Maybe you’ve even done this yourself.
You let life get in the way of doing what it takes to make it all happen. Then, you come up with reason after reason, otherwise known as evidence, to further prove to yourself why you couldn’t follow through with what it would take to reach your dreams.
But don’t worry! You can still follow your dreams. You just have to learn to deal with the top three dream stealers.
1. Your Circumstances
I hear so many people say … “I wish I could do that, but” … followed by some long reason why they’re not able to do something. It’s typically … not enough money, other people getting in the way, or something from their past that they blame. It’s thoughts like these that keep people from following their dreams.
Here’s the thing … circumstances don’t affect you until … they reach your mind. It’s how you think about them that makes all the difference. Take having no money for example … most people wouldn’t even try to move forward because of this, but not everyone. I recently met an awesome lady at a big conference who told me that she had to be there because she knew that what they were going to teach would move her to the next level in her business. She then shared that she had to sell her Coach purse on Ebay to be able to buy the ticket to come. Talk about tenacity!
2. Be Fearless
So many people let fear of trying something new keep them right where they’re at in life … in their comfort zone. Or … they will only go so far until they have to do something out of their comfort zone, then they stop.
Here’s the thing … everyone is fearful of something. The important thing is … to not let the fear stop you.
On my entrepreneur journey, I’ve met so many inspiring people. Some of the most amazing ones came here to the United States with little money and did not speak any English. Can you imagine how scary that would be? But … they didn’t let it stop them. Now … not only do they have successful businesses, but they also speak fluent English.
3. I’m SO Confused
This is a big one here. People say this all the time. “I’m so confused, I just don’t know what do next,” so they do nothing at all or everything they shouldn’t be doing.
Here’s the thing … people use being confused as an excuse to not move forward. Typically, behind the confusion is fear of some kind. Mostly… fear of being seen by the world.
The one I hear a lot is … people saying they don’t know what to put on their website, so they don’t have a website and therefore they can’t possibly be open for business. But when we get down to it … it’s fear of some kind behind the confusion.
So the next time you catch yourself thinking … you can’t possibly do something, change your thinking, before … you let those thoughts begin to steal your dreams.
