Hello SOTGC community,
Whether you’re starting a business or beginning your climb up the corporate ladder, belief in yourself is essential.
At the beginning, you’re full of excitement and tenacity to get your startup or career launched, but then … you have one of those days that doesn’t go very well. And then … you have another.
It’s days like these that can really take a toll on your belief system. Self-doubt starts to sneak in and you begin to think … why did I even (fill in the blank).
You have to remember … it’s your belief in yourself that inspired and motivated you to go down the path that you’re on.
If you can imagine it, you can achieve it. If you can dream it, you can become it. ~ William Arthur Ward
When you’re having one of those days when everything seems to be going wrong, ask yourself …
1. Where could I be more forgiving and understanding of myself?
There are some of you that put these over-the-top expectations on yourself and then when it doesn’t turn out like you hoped for … you feel awful.
2. What did you accomplish?
Maybe you didn’t hit every milestone that you hoped for, but you did accomplish something. Write these down and start appreciating everything you’ve accomplished. Sometimes, visually seeing all that you have done can re-inspire your belief in yourself and what you’re doing.
3. What lessons did I learn?
Don’t get bogged down with everything that went wrong or any mistakes you feel you made. No one is perfect. The important thing is the takeaways. What lessons did you learn that you could use in the future to avoid the same situation and results?
And finally … remind yourself of your “why!”
It’s why you get up every day and start taking action towards your goals and dreams despite the crappy days. It’s the belief in yourself and how amazing you are that will make it all happen.
Have a great week!
