Hello SOTGC community,
I’m so happy to have the privilege to share with you another lesson that I learned from the healer that I spoke about in my previous post. This man has given me inspiration that I continue to think about and pass on to friends even after time has passed from meeting “my Ketut.” I believe that is part of making a transformation to improving yourself. Walking the walk speaks much louder than words spoken. Hear it, take the time to process it, make it yours, and live it.
Lesson 2 – Pleasure and Joy
We have all felt these emotions of pleasure and joy but what is the difference? “My Ketut” explained to us that the feelings of pleasure and pain are temporary and are in your head. If you buy a new dress or get a raise you feel pleasure in that moment. If you burn your hand on the stove you feel pain, but only for a short time. Joy is in your heart, so when you experience it, joy is so much more than a temporary feeling. When you find something that you are passionate about it brings you a permanent feeling of joy. Whether you are an artist, a surfer, a chef, or a mother, you tend to experience life with more appreciation because you have found your joy.
Over the next few weeks I would ask that you take a moment and acknowledge the difference of pleasure and joy. I believe that this enlightenment will help you in any disappointments that come up in life. It helps you realize that those disappointments are temporary, but if you have found joy in your heart you are already ahead of the game.
