Hello SOTGC community,
How often do you show yourself some love for all the amazing things you’ve accomplished? If you’re like most busy women … it’s probably been awhile.
I always wonder … why do women forget to show the most important person … themselves … a little gratitude?
You would never dream of not taking a minute to honor and acknowledge a family member or friend for an achievement or a job well done. But it seems, as busy women, we never take time for this.
I know that it’s easy to fall onto the hamster wheel known as the never ending to-do list. A list that includes career and business goals, family needs, time with friends, errands and household chores … just to name a few. You find yourself thinking, “Okay, I have that done and that done. Now, what’s next on the list?” Life becomes an endless blur of activity.
I’ve been guilty of this myself, but I decided to change all that. Here’s how I did it, and it’s something you can do as well.
When I sit down to plan out my upcoming week, I start out by looking at the previous week and take note of the things that I have accomplished. Then I schedule some celebration time into my calendar. It could be a trip to the bookstore, a nice dinner out with my husband, or simply reading a book for 30 minutes if I have limited time.
This has made a huge difference, especially when I’m having one of those days when I feel like I didn’t get much done. I look back at my accomplishments for a great reminder.
This week, take a few minutes to reflect back on your week and congratulate yourself for all you have accomplished, and then … do a little celebrating!
