Hello SOTGC community,
Spring has sprung here in Northern California with beautiful flowers blooming everywhere.
It’s one of my favorite times of the year!
Spring signifies a new start or beginning. It’s also a great time to “clear out” all the accumulated stuff in your life.
Here are three great ways to spring clean your life:
1. Clear the clutter!
Nothing feels better than clearing out the clutter. It’s something I do once a year. It’s hard to believe, because I used to save everything.
I know … I know …
I’d keep things I only looked at when I was looking for something else, and then I would stop and go down memory lane.
Can you relate?
Not to mention … how much space all the stuff took up. So one day, I did a purge. I either threw it away, gave it away, or donated it, only keeping a few items.
It was a great feeling when all the “stuff” was gone. Now, I do a yearly spring cleaning with the rule of … if I haven’t looked at it or wore it in more than a year, then it’s time for it go. This is also great way to give back to a local charity.
2. Replace the Negative with a Positive!
Negativity. I just don’t have time for it! Nor do I want it in my life and neither should you!
Spend some time looking at who you hang out with. Who’s in your inner circle? Do you have those negative Nellies that are always complaining and sucking your energy and time?
You know who they are! It’s time for them to go! Then start connecting with really positive and supportive people. People that will lift you up … not tear you down.
3. Re-evaluate Your Goals
It’s a great time to do a check-in on the goals and the strategic plan of action you set up at the beginning of the year. How are they going? Do you need to change anything to stay on target? Are there any goals that no longer serve you? One way that I keep my goals in check is by using Trello.com. This website keeps me on task and my productivity in check. Plus … they have apps for your tablet and phone.
This week, pick one area of your life and start your spring cleaning. And don’t forget to donate to your local charity.
