Hello SOTGC community,
I hope you are finding the new year to be full of love and happiness. Recently I met with a healer, a former Buddhist monk and spiritual leader who has studied in India and Thailand among other divine lands across the globe. I can tell you that I was slightly hesitant about our meeting because I was walking in blind, I had absolutely no idea what to expect from this man. Was he going to chant, pass on energy, read my thoughts? My uncertainties were endless, but my curiosity was much greater. One thing I know about myself is that I am always open to learning something new from another individual and experience.
I walked into the room to meet this gentleman, he was in a white cotton suit with an orange scarf (think about a younger, handsome, Ketut from Eat Pray Love). He sat down with me and his complete calmness and concentration to be in the moment with me was incredible. This wasn’t happening in a retreat in Thailand, this was in a New York City office building. Yet he was able to focus completely asking some questions about my life, all aspects were on the table. Health, family, work, love and overall happiness.
Again, I was hesitant to say too much, but then I remembered, he is not a psychic, he is a master at mindfulness and energy healing, be open with him.
After a few minutes I went onto a massage table (clothed). He turned the lights down, worked with energy crystals, sounds, and water. I couldn’t believe that I could feel my body temperature change with his motions. I felt cleansed in a way, starting over with a fresh mental beginning. This was such an incredible experience.
Not everyone has the benefit (or interest) of having the opportunity to meet someone like him. So I would like to share a few words of wisdom with you over the next few weeks. You are a group of intelligent women (and men) that that choose to strive for success and happiness in life and balance is so important, I want to help get you there.
You cannot give something away that you don’t have:
If you don’t have food, you cannot give it away. If you do not have water, you cannot give it away. If you do not have money, you cannot give it away. And my favorites, if you do not have positivity, you cannot give it away. If you do not have love, you cannot give it away.
You have to have it to be able to give it. So many of us try and pass along advice and judgments among other things when it is not part of who we are. We must focus on ourselves so we can be the best person we can to help others.
Over the next few weeks, take a moment of every day to focus on yourself. Give yourself 20 minutes to be alone, collect your thoughts and appreciate your surroundings. Acknowledge the amazing qualities in yourself. And breathe.
More to come!
