It’s a great pleasure to introduce you to the newest SOTGC Author…the amazing June Haynes. One of my friends introduced me to June as “two women that have vision and a lot in common” and boy was he right! Though we’ve only had a short phone conversation so far, what I really enjoy about June is her humor, spunk, energy, and true projection of what her brand calls “return on relationships.” June will be writing about branding, PR, and how that applies to your business AND as a career person.
June Haynes is the Founder and President of June Haynes Luxury Retailing, where she leverages over 25 years of experience in the luxury space to bring her knowledge and passion for the retail industry to clients worldwide. Haynes is known for identifying top talents and helping them reach their maximum potential through training and motivation. Her goal at JHLR has been cultivating and enhancing the culture of luxury brands, transforming the client experience by developing and implementing one-to-one client services.
June’s journey began in her childhood home of Guyana. Her fascination with fashion began early and she spent countless hours after school in her mother’s boutique. She followed her calling to New York City, studying fashion buying and merchandising at the Fashion Institute of Technology. June managed the designer floor at Barney’s New York for five years before a serendipitous meeting with Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana resulted in her being tapped to open and manage the duo’s flagship Madison Avenue store, their first boutique in North America. She later enjoyed a ten-year tenure as Senior Vice President, Retail, for Valentino, before setting out to create JHLR. Throughout her years in the fashion industry, June has shared her experiences by speaking publicly and mentoring students. She has been guest speaker at the Luxury Lab MX Conference in Mexico City, the Fashion Institute of Technology and the Thurgood Marshall Mentorship Forum.
June’s proven track record of consistent performance improvement through increased sales has given her invaluable insights into what shapes a positive consumer experience. The knowledge of how to create Return on Relationships that ensure results has become the foundation of JHLR. As June notes, “The product can be found in so many places. The most important investments brands can make today are in their staff and their clients.”
