Hello SOTGC community,
As women, it’s amazing how much of our wellbeing can be wrapped up in our looks. We’ve all had those days when we wake up in the morning, take a look in the mirror, and want to crawl right back into bed.
Maybe it’s a delightful new pimple on our chin, we’ve found another grey hair or wrinkle, or those dark circles are so dark that even our concealer isn’t doing the trick. Or we go to the closet and “try” to get dressed, only to try on multiple outfits, and still walk out the door feeling less than fabulous, not to mention completely frustrated!
Yup, it sounds all too familiar doesn’t it?
I am here to tell you that your outer appearance is less than half of the battle – your “inner wardrobe” is what will truly make the difference.
We are women, the most beautiful creatures on the planet (if you ask me). And when we stand proud and own our beauty and strength, especially on the inside, we shine our light onto the world in the most magnificent way.
There are plenty of magazines out there that will tell you how to keep up with current fashion trends, how to dress 10lbs lighter, or what the best bathing suit is to wear depending on your body shape (and believe me, I subscribe to several of them, and look forward to reading them). You can even check out some great tips from Cobi Collins’ Lip Gloss Diaries, here on our SOTGC blog!
Some of this information is fun, and some of it is downright helpful. But if we feel lousy on the inside, even the best outfit won’t do the trick.
We are powerful beyond our imagination. When we are proud of all that we are, whether in our “fat jeans” or our skinny jeans, those around us will feel our bright energy – this is where we get our glow. So ladies, this is a call to action to own your magnificence!
When you look in the mirror and start to have negative thoughts about your appearance, look that critic in the eye, and instead, smile and tell her she is beautiful, and tell her that you love her.
Resist the urge to ask, “Do I look fat in these jeans?”! We all do this from time to time, but the minute we do, we dilute our beauty, and more importantly our confidence. And confidence is really what we need to look great in everything.
Be beautiful, because you are beautiful. If that is the attitude you are wearing on the inside, then that is what everyone will see on the outside.
