Good morning SOTGC readers. I want to wish you all a happy Easter. This is an interesting day for me. Though my brother and I were not raised with a specific religion (my Father was raised Catholic and my Mother was raised Methodist) I feel that Easter is still a wonderful holiday. It’s a day filled with tradition, where families and friends get together to remember, to be grateful, to remember good times and create new memories, a day filled with laughter and joy.
I remember when I was a kid my Dad would wake my brother up and then let me out of my room where I had been anxiously waiting to start the Easter egg hunt. I’d come racing out of my room, head straight to the basket that the “Easter Bunny” had filled and left for me, and then start hopping around trying to kick off the start of “the hunt.” So perhaps I was an impatient kid 🙂
I look back on those moments with nostalgia, with happiness, and with an appreciation NOW that I did not have then. Those moments no longer repeat themselves, I’m honestly not sure when the last time my family was together on Easter morning, and I don’t know that we will be anytime soon. However, as I get older and appreciate and cherish those childhood memories more and more, I celebrate the day for the “new beginnings” that it offers. Whether it’s for a new chapter you’re starting in your life, a new place you’re living, or a new activity or hobby you’ve taken up, this day offers me hope, for all that can and hopefully all that will be.
So I wish all of you and your loved ones a VERY HAPPY EASTER!
