Good morning SOTGC readers. Here is another Skype video interview with my mentor Jeremy Laynor. Jeremy was the hiring manager at Salient Surgical Technologies for the California region, and I was one of his first hires when he became a manager. One of the things that was so impressive about Jeremy’s managing style (and later as an area Vice President for the West) was how he managed to “keep the ball rolling” so to speak.
Not only did he take one of the lowest performing regions in the nation and turn it into one of the top, but he kept us focused, energized, and built up a team mentality that those of us that are still here, still remember.
If you have any questions for Jeremy, please email me at: firstname.lastname@example.org and we can address them on upcoming interviews. Thank you!
– Always check in with your team…even if it’s after hours, even if you’re exhausted, because they need that “touch point” as much as you
– Highlight best practices, involve the team in supporting those areas that each member needs help with
– A team that laughs, plays, and learns together, is a team that wins together
