Hello SOTGC community,
There has been a lot of talk about mentorship lately. How to work with one, what their role is, and how much work the mentee does during the road to success. Below are three characteristics that a mentor shuld have.
- Pick someone in your organization or division (if you’re a larger company) who is in a position of influence, who could open doors and opportunities for you
- Pick someone who you like personally, who likes you, and who is willing to deliver the advice that you need to hear, in order to develop professionally
- Take the lead: it’s up to the mentee to schedule the calls, create the agenda, come up with their future goals, and ask for help on moving towards those goals
