Hello SOTGC community,
Here is the fourth part in our “Summer Slow Down” saga
Spread love in your personal network
I know you know this already, but everything runs on relationships. It’s hard to do anything worthwhile without them.
When we’re running to meet the next deadline duringour busy season, we often don’t stop to care for our personal needs, let alone leisurely conversation. We can start to feel like robots.
Summer is the moment, remember, that you’re not just a professional, but you’re an evolving human being … and so is everyone around you.
With vacation energy drawing us out into picnics, happy hours, and barbecues, it’s prime time to appreciate and strengthen your personalnetwork.
Remember the reflecting you did on where you’re headed and what you most want to do in the future? If you managed to fuel yourself with optimism, energy, and excitement, start sharing it with your people.
Your enthusiasm will be contagious. It’s like a gift.
And if you’re thinking about changing your course in life, but aren’t sure where exactly, share that, too. People feel honored when we’re honest and vulnerable with them. And they usually love to help!
Reflect on who you want to connect with and howyou’d like to connect with them. Start reaching out and booking get-togethers. Fill your calendar with meaningful connection.
Appreciate that you get to unapologetically enjoy your network, just by making time for it.
Then slow down, drop your agenda, open up some unexpected conversation, and relax into truly being with the people in your world.
What will you make a point to do with your “summer slow-down”? What experiences or advice do you have to share?
