Hello SOTGC community.
We’re all familiar with the awkward silence that takes place sitting in a room while waiting for a meeting to start. You know the one where you’ve already used up your small talk about the weather and summer vacation?
We’ve served up four topics that you can use to fill the silence with your sports talking colleagues and how you can work them into the conversation.

- Break the ice with Iceland: Who doesn’t love a good underdog story? Team Iceland handed Team England, soccer royalty, an early exit from Euro 2016 – a big deal European soccer tournament. - Volunteer some information: A boss who believes in you changes everything. - Use a mascot to start the conversation: What was your colleague’s high school or college mascot? In the College Baseball World Series, which is happening now, The University of Arizona Wildcats are taking on the Chanticleers of Coastal Carolina. Coastal Carolina has one of the more unique mascots out there, the chanticleer (pronounced SHON-ti-clear) is a fierce rooster out of Chaucer’s Canterbury Tales. Other interesting mascots?
