Hello SOTGC community,
Just think … each and every one of us has a journey that will either be a warning or an inspiration. The determining factor is how we perceive that journey. Will your journey be crafted into a beautiful tapestry of growth, reflection, and resilience? Or will you be so caught up in the enormity of the journey that you miss the message? What message you ask? Your journey is meant to be intoxicating and liberating as it extends its hand of freedom to those who are interested in allowing the world to see. As Picasso said, “it is your work in life that is the ultimate seduction.”
Think of the many trials and tribulations that have found their way onto our personal doorstep. It could have been receiving that pink slip after 20 years of dedicated service. Maybe the vows you took with your partner are now under scrutiny. Or do your financial woes have you second-guessing your journey altogether?
It doesn’t matter how you personally feel about any of these life situations. The lesson invites you to craft a way to relish in your own victories. Yes, I said it … Victories! You’re still standing, you have remained grounded, and you understand that the journey is an active process. There is nothing passive about you—or your life for that matter. All too often we want to be an inspiration to those around us. However, we forget to be an inspiration to ourselves.
When you take the opportunity to pause, reflect and realize just how far you have come. It should be plainly obvious that you are an inspiration. Allow those around you to experience your light in a way that’s authentic and unique. We spend too much time worrying about how people view us, when our individual inspiration is the very thing that makes us rare, unique, and even peculiar. Instead of getting that shot of espresso in the morning, what we need is a double dose of perspective.
Life is about tapping into your own purpose and using the stories to live a life worth mentioning. Determining how you will use those beautiful circumstances to create new circles of opportunities is up to you. These circles aren’t just for you; they’re mainly for those around you. Noted author and motivation speaker, John C. Maxwell, says in one of his books the following: “Only a secure leader can empower other leaders.” Use your inspiration and position to leverage a space for not only your dreams to grow … but for the dreams of others to grow as well!
When life happens (and it will) what tools are you going to use to remain in a place that’s productive? Think of some difficult situations and what you could have done to remain positive.
