Hello SOTGC community,
My first release for you will be about Twitter Lists. Do you know what they are? And if so. Do you use them? In any case, through this post you will find explanations, tips and a step by step to create them. Are you ready? Here we go.
Step by Step at Potala Palace – Tibet by Alicia Rodríguez Ruiz.
First thing first. What are Twitter Lists?
We could define them as curated groups of users in Twitter. They can be public or private and they can be our authorship or from other people.
We use them to organize and put in order the Twitter users we are interested in.
If we create a public list, members in it would see they are included in.
If we create private lists, members don’t see themselves in, so, we can take advantage from this privacy.
If we want to reward and empower our audience I suggest you including them in public lists. Some examples: My favourite tweeps, must follow marketers, must read Bloggers,…
But if we want our search to be anonymous because they are our competition or because they are possible biz or professionals to work with in a future, then my best advice would be managing private lists.
If we subscribe other Twitter members’ lists we accept, in advance, they will be public.
Lists only allow us reading information about members and subscribers but they do not let us “tweeting” other members. Remember that the main feature of lists is that they are awesome ways to organize and classify people under the categories we have embraced previously. These categories are supposed to be the most useful ones for us.
Step by Step creating a list and adding members.
Create a list is so easy and add members to our lists is even easier. Here you are my Slideshare presentation to learn step by step how to do it.
It has been easy, hasn’t it? If you liked it I would love you share it
Let’s know, now, how Twitter Lists can help us.
Twitter Lists Pros
1- They are the best way to organize our followers (Followers Segmentation).
2- They are the best way to organize Twitter users we follow (Following Segmentation).
These two choices will help us knowing who is talking about our brand and what are they telling about us. We shall be able to discover their needs and likes and where they focus their interests on. Some examples: black lists, lists based on influencers, on geolocation, on sponsors,…
3- Through Twitter Lists we can check easily a bigger amount of tweets and the risk of not seeing an important tweet gets minimum.
4- They are a very good method to win followers. We can empower audience with the “award” hided at the back of public lists.
5- They are the best option to install and implement tools as Hootsuite https://hootsuite.com/ or Tweetdeck https://tweetdeck.twitter.com/. These tools give us a lot of useful data and information to manage our Social Media in a more effective manner.
That’s it! I hope this article will inspire you to try Twitter List.
