Hello SOTGC community,
If you’re part of society at all, you probably understand what a presence philanthropy has in our daily lives. From one-for-one promotions to race-for-this and walk-for-that, the nonprofit industry is everywhere.
What can be confusing – even a little disheartening – is how difficult it is to know what kind of impact these millions (yes, millions) of nonprofits are actually having.
I wrote a post a few weeks ago on checking out the legitimacy and accounting of a nonprofit to be a better informed donor. (You can read more about my Charity Check advice here.) But, there is still very little information available about true impact and organizational efficiency.
One very strong indicator of organizational efficiency and efficacy is the strength of their infrastructure.
And, the very best way that an organization can build and maintain their infrastructure is through a strong sustainable giving program. Recurring giving circles enable organizations to better budget and forecast, keep staff lean and efficient, schedule project implementation, and be accountable to key donors and supporters.
While not the only indicator of a strong infrastructure, having a sustainable giving program significantly increases the charity’s ability to scale and grow to have more, and even exponential, impact for they cause they support.
Water charity is no exception.
The organization that I founded and now direct has a great, but small, group of sustainable givers. It is through their support that we have increased our project capacity, and already doubled our impact this year so far. But, we have so much more work to do!
Access to clean water is still a daily struggle for more than one billion people worldwide. With my organization’s project success rate of 100 percent (industry average of water charity is 40 percent), we are poised to scale and make a big and permanent change for communities in need of clean water. No other development will be successful until this need is address, and we are responding.
An incredible donor, who understands the importance of our infrastructure at this key time for in organization, has offered to MATCH all new membership in our sustainable giving program – The Village – for a year.
Starting as low at $25 per month, Village members receive exclusive project updates, VIP treatment at events, water system naming rights, our signature Well Aware bracelet, and, most importantly – the peace of mind that they are an integral part of solving the water crisis.
If you have ever been drawn to this cause, and if you want to be a critical part of the strength of our work, please consider joining our Village today. You can find more info and our registration on our website here.
You can also help by sharing this opportunity. Please post, tweet, share, pin, shout and smoke signal this special chance to be a part of changing lives with us forever.
