Hello SOTGC community,
As I continue to stretch, explore, and re-craft that “sweet spot” in life, it’s just a constant reminder that I’m never done! Life, as I’m beginning to really understand and embrace in a way I never anticipated, … is truly a process! It’s about commitment, perseverance, and resilience to name a few. There are many studies that suggest there are specific characteristics that can determine whether a person will be successful, therefore, living a happy and meaningful life. Now, I fully appreciate that everyone has their own definition of success and what it means to be happy.
Some authors write that characteristics like grit, curiosity, and self-control are the keys to becoming successful. There’s another school of thought that hang their hat on social and emotional intelligence as the winning tickets. Then there’s the ever popular compassion, empathy, humility, and concern for mankind.
The truth is this … as I see it. All of those characteristics are wonderful, dynamic, fulfilling, and necessary in life. However, it’s not necessarily those characteristics and them alone that determine success and happiness. It’s when an individual has truly found and embraced their mission in life coupled with a variety of the characteristics listed above. That the window to success and happiness presents itself as a thank you. Life is about you … and you will never be done! As you’re never done growing, learning, and experiencing the best that life has to afford you by operating from your sweet spot.
Your sweet spot is that special place where time stands still, you’re in a natural flow and it’s organic from start to finish. Think of that “thing” that makes everything all right in your world. During your time in this space, nothing can be felt, your smile is big and bright and the intensity is off the charts. It’s a place where all the stars align for an authentic comic encounter. You become one with the world and your strengths are magnified.
For me my sweet spot is always when I am speaking … it offers an opportunity for me to share my artistry in a way that increases my happiness and extend positive feelings to my audiences. In life we’re never done because when we love what we do, we’re never done sharing, feeling, failing, and wanting to make a difference. As we strive to live out our life philosophies by doing what we love, we’re giving ourselves the permission to continue working on us. There will always be work to be done, and this heightens as we experience the depths of our strengths within the fabric of life, love, work and play.
Success and happiness are connected in more ways than one; as they’re hinged upon you finding your sweet spot. You’ll never be done … so why not do what you love?
If you have found and are maximizing your “sweet spot,” please share a few examples of when it was clear that “You’ll never be Done.” If you haven’t found your “sweet spot” for the next month, journal about all of the experiences and encounters that make you the happiest.
