Hello SOTGC community,
While searching for some inspiration this past weekend, I came across a 6-minute video called “Dream,” and thought it was fantastic (and I’m sure most of the other 10 million plus viewers did as well). It’s messaging is very motivating, and there is so much good content that I watched it again a second time. Here is the link in case you are interested – http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g-jwWYX7Jlo
We all have dreams. Some of us act on them, and others don’t. We can come up with all kinds of reasons why our dreams can’t or won’t come true. Here are some that I hear most often:
- I’m too old/too young
- I’m not good enough
- I’m not smart enough/educated enough
- I’m not rich enough/I don’t have enough money
- I’m not in good shape/I’m too fat/I’m not strong enough
- I can’t handle it
- I’m not attractive enough
I am going to help you de-code that list, so here goes:
- Excuse … x7
Yes, that’s right – they are all excuses, and more importantly, they are of your own creation.
The secret to living your dream is to simply understand that your mind is the only thing that really stands in your way. And, that you are already enough, just as you are.
This is a call to all of you this week to act on your dreams! If you don’t have any, take some time to think about it; for most of you, this step won’t be necessary. If you know what they are, take one small step that will get you closer to living your dream.
I made the decision last week that I was far from living my dream, so I signed up for a business-related weekend seminar, and I already feel more empowered!
For you, it may be making a phone call, making a connection, eating healthier, reading a book, making an investment, going for a run, signing up for a course, or simply deciding that you are going to make an effort.
Each step will get you closer, and no step is too small. Your dreams are worth it, and so are you!!
If you know anyone else that is not living their dreams, please pass on this “secret” by posting this article on Facebook or Linkedin, or Tweet and Pin away! You never know, you just might help someone get closer to living the dream!
