Hello SOTGC community,
Before the warmer months of spring hit, the weather is what you would call “moody.” Mornings and evenings are still chilly, while afternoons can go as high as 68°. We’re tempted to move on to our lightest clothes, but it’s not really advisable – unless you want to catch a cold! We need layers that can easily be removed or added, we need protection against the rain (umbrella, waterproof everything), but also against the sun (hat, sunglasses, sunscreen). It’s not the easiest mission, but it can be accomplished! Hopefully, these three transitional outfits from our favorite fashion bloggers will inspire you:
The French blogger Typhaine of Cuillere a absinthe nailed this comfortable spring outfit! She paired skinny floral jeans with a feminine sweatshirt and a casual bomber jacket, everything in lovely pastel tones. The jacket can easily be taken off, and the sleeves look nice even when they’re rolled up. Her floppy hat makes good protection against both sun and rain, while her patent loafers will probably keep out puddle water. She finished the look with a crossbody bag, which carries all her essentials.
Rebecca of The Clothes Horse is a great example of spring layering! She didn’t give up on her favorite denim shorts and graphic tee just because it was cold outside. Layered with a pair of tights and a cardigan, they can be worn year round. She finished the look with lace-up boots and a red knitted beanie, which add comfort as well as warmth to the ensemble.
Natalie of Natalie Off Duty has edgy, gorgeous style. This time of the year, she wears transitional, comfortable outfits that everyone would love. Here, she paired burgundy jeans with a graphic tee, a biker jacket and ankle boots, which she can take from morning till night with ease. A pair of round sunglasses is both cool and useful, and a messenger bag can fit an extra sweater or an umbrella, as needed.
Which one of these outfits is your favorite?
