Hello SOTGC community,
It has been one week since we implemented the petition to stop photoshopped ads after Target posted photoshopped and airbrushed photos of their swimsuit models containing strange cut-outs:
It was a wakeup call to me, realizing that all of the major retailers such as JCrew, Victoria’s Secret, GAP, and Target have been showing unrealistic and unattainable bodies for years. I thought, “What if enough people stood together and said that we do not want this type of photo anymore?” Ladies and gentlemen, we truly do have an opportunity to change the world! If we obtain enough signatures, major retailers will see that the general public wants reality in their advertisements.
During the first week of the petition, we have had international signatures. We tweeted the petition directly to celebrities such as Robin Roberts, Gayle King, Ellen DeGeneres, and Oprah, asking them to sign the petition. We also tweeted GAP, JCrew, Victoria’s Secret, and Target asking them to sign the petition themselves!
So what can you do to help? My request is that if you have not signed the petition yet, please log on and sign at http://www.ipetitions.com/petition/lets-end-photo-shopped-ads, then click the Facebook Link as well as the Twitter link and share that you signed on your social media. We also have post suggestions, which you can use on your Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, and Google+ accounts below.
Together we can make a difference! How fast can we get to 1,000 signatures?
***Please take a moment to sign the petition, so we can get the attention of major retailers such as GAP, Victoria’s Secret, JCrew, and Target***

Ladies & gentleman, #Target was caught perpetuating the “unearthly thin” image by photoshopping their ads. The only way to stop this is to sign the petition & take a stand. Ladies: For all of us who have body image issues thanks to unhealthy advertising like this, please help. Gentleman: For your daughters, wives, sisters & loved ones, please sign to stop this trend towards #EatingDisorders because of companies like this. http://stilettosontheglassceiling.com/sotgc/2014/03/sign-the-pledge-to-end-photo-shopped-ads-by-ryan-green.html.
