Hello SOTGC community,
Today we’re having a little fun learning how to get the perfect pucker just in time for Valentine’s Day. Whether you have a great love or get to celebrate this Valentine’s Day with your best girlfriends, take a few minutes to spice up your pout.
Condition, Prime, Line, Color, and Gloss for luscious lips.
Condition‑ Weather and hormone changes, allergies, and some lip products like lip stains can dry lips so it’s imperative to exfoliate. I recommend a gentle lip scrub two to three times per week when washing your face to remove dead surface cells and prepare your lips to receive healing moisture from a lip balm. Use the balm every night before bed and wake to soft, supple lips! Satin Lips® Lip Mask contains miniature beads that gently exfoliate dead surface skin cells that cause lips to appear dull and lifeless. Satin Lips® Lip Balm moisturizes dry, rough lips for at least six hours.
Prime‑ Want your lip color to last through lunch and not bleed into those fine little lines that have begun to form around your lips? Better yet, want those fine little lip lines to disappear? Try an age-fighting lip primer to help do both.
TimeWise® Age-Fighting Lip Primer fights the look of fine lines and wrinkles on and around lips. It also helps lipstick last longer and prevents lip color from feathering and bleeding.
Tip: Apply lip primer before you begin your makeup. That will give it time to set while you’re applying other makeup.
Line‑ To give your lips definition, line lips with a lip liner that closely matches the shade of your lip color or use a clear or natural color that matches your lips to give a softer pout. It also will help prevent lip color from feathering and bleeding. Don’t just line the outer edge but smudge the color all over lips after lining. This will even the color and never leave you with just a line around your lips after eating or conducting a long training session. I suggest a liner that is waterproof and long-wearing for the most satisfying results.
Color‑ For lips that feel and look sensational with every smile, use a lip color that’s best suited to your skin tone and keeps lips moisturized. Don’t be afraid to try a deep red or bright pink this month. Trust me, you’ll look fantastic and get noticed when it matters most. My favorite right now is Sizzling Red True Dimensions, but check out these Radiant Reds. Click here for Tips By Skin Tone.
Gloss‑ Add a little polish and shine with a touch of lip gloss just in the center of the lower lip to create a multi-dimensional and fuller lip look. The gloss will move to both lips on its own with its slippery properties. You can wear gloss all on its own for just a touch of color and moisture or you can top off your candy apple red color with a little sparkle. Any way you let ’em shine, you’ll be “the glamorous, the flossy flossy” (thanks Fergie)!
