Hello SOTGC community,
I hope you’re all getting ready for some fun filled NYE joy! This year I’m headed out to celebrate with one of my best friends who is graduating and will be moving to wherever she signs…so she got to pick the NYE plans.
Last year I purposefully avoided the clubs and bars. 2012 was the most tumultuous year of my life, filled with heartbreak, change, and loss. I wanted to ring in the New Year with people who have meaning, who have been there for me through everything, and who helped me see light when I felt everything around me would be permanently dark. So I spent the evening at my parents’ house eating great food, drinking champagne, and falling asleep before my Mom. (Still haven’t managed to live that one down yet) 🙂
I think everyone gets reflective as the New Year approaches. Whether that means you assess your previous years and plan your next list of accomplishments or if it simply means you look forward to the hope and potential that this coming year could bring. While 2013 has been an amazing year full of forward movement in both personal and career growth, it’s given me time to really asses what’s important, to figure out WHY I feel I was put here on Earth and WHAT contribution I want to be remembered for.
So I wish you all a happy and safe New Years Eve and I hope 2014 is something you look forward to with hope in your heart and a smile on your face
