Hello SOTGC community,
HR Captain’s Log AD 6000
We are witnessing the rise of the ‘Specialist Generalist’ – more and more individuals are becoming specialized in a multitude of areas. For example, there are Botanists who are equally proficient in understanding Human Biology/Physiology, and Physiologists who are expert at Structural Engineering. This is important, because in the absence of local human specialists, theoretically everyone can be their own cross-fuctional team.
This brings up the next new wave of economics – a new economic reality for interstellar existence.
It is referred to as Indivestment or Indivesting.
In this model, we see investing not only in organizational or corporate entities, but also focusing on investing 1:1 – investing in individuals.
So what’s the big deal?
Someone who is well past their highest point of contribution career-wise, and who has aggregated significant wealth, can look to recent high-potential PhD grads with strong credentials who demonstrate positive indivestability. Just this past year alone, some 10,000 PhD’s doing post graduate research were tapped by individual investors to receive upwards of $1M to $10M as investment donations.
The return on investment is of course, a ‘futures’ scenario – once the PhD reaches maturity and/or develops a significant Intellectual Property (IP) or Invention Portfolio (IPort), then the monetary return to the individual who invested in them some 30 years prior will come to fruition.
This alternative investment stream makes it much more possible for a new grad student entering the workforce (or Effort Force) to make it ‘off the launchpad’ so to speak.
To be continued …..
In the future, eveything is possible!
