Hello SOTGC community,
It is a pleasure to introduce you to the newest guest author….the lovely Michelle Moreau, Culinary Nutritionist.
For over two decades Michelle Moreau worked as a pitchman, selling “As Seen on TV” products direct to the public via live demonstrations to large crowds throughout the US. Over the years, she watched the enormous growth of her customers- not in numbers, but in waistlines. Also obvious was how challenging it became to find a balanced meal when on the road (especially in the South and Mid-West); in many restaurants fruits and veggies were practically non-existent.
These observations are what propelled her to divert her career into Culinary Nutrition. It is her mission to help our nation recognize and embrace the health value of regularly consuming a nutritious, balanced diet which includes a medley of fruits, veggies and leafy greens, whole grains, lean protein sources and healthy fats. In 2010 she created www.HealthyintheKitchen.com, a website dedicated to healthier eating and nutrition promotion.
Michelle Moreau earned her Culinary Nutrition degree from Johnson & Wales University in Providence, Rhode Island. Her dietetic internship is with New York-Presbyterian, the University Hospital of Columbia and Cornell. Some of her diverse culinary experience includes preparing healthy, balanced meals for guests at a premier health spa, cooking meals for the courageous cast members of A & E television’s weight-loss reality show HEAVY, collaborating with the development committee in the creation of a culinary nutrition curriculum for Tulane University School of Medicine (a vanguard program where every medical student now receives cooking lessons), as well as contracting as a personal chef to help clients achieve their own health-oriented goals.
