Hello SOTGC community,
HR Captain’s Log Star Date AD 5888
Right now I am listening to one of my favorite albums of all time, “Visions of the Emerald Beyond” by John McLaughlin – on my embedded iPod. You heard me right, “embedded” iPod. All of my downloads are subcutaneous, and for that matter, most all of the information I search and/or decide to store for my future use is managed ‘inside’ and internal to my anatomy.
No more accessories or devices or hand-held anything …. it’s completely internalized.
It’s a result of the gradual evolution of ubiquitous computing and personalized data-management.
Certainly one big cost savings is no more loss-prevention behavior or special lost device insurance premiums – no need!
All of the electronics, memory chips and implanted hardware are bio-compatible. Some of my internal devices are actually programmed to be bio-degradable so that once their usefulness has expired, they will dissolve.
You see very few cosmic citizens carrying brief cases or shouldering backpacks – much of what used to be personal clutter is now all a part of your personal physiology.
Why should it be any different?
These days transcripts, interview notes, transactions, memos, sound bytes, spreadsheets and white papers are all transmitted inter-physiologically.
No more wires, no more fuss.
It’s a beautiful world!
To be continued …
In the future, everything is possible!
