Hello SOTGC community,
HR Captain’s Log Star Date: AD 2013
Alas, “left behind” Earth is feeling the isolation and increasing desolation as a result of more and more human communities relocating to distant, newly-developed inhabitable planets.
Since so much of our human history, as well as our unique terrestrial natural resources are still on Earth, it is imperative that we preserve this legacy for what few generations remain there.
It is the classic “business case study” – as newer and better planets become available, with fewer disease states, lower population densities and practically non-existent inner-city violence, people opt to relocate – it makes perfect cosmic sense!
The downside of course, is a planet Earth woefully neglected in the wake of wave after wave of citizen exodus.
Training classes and in-flight holographic videos are being deployed in a last-ditch effort to create awareness of this dilemma. At risk is the level and quality of healthcare left on Earth as more and more clinicians and physician-specialists, those who can afford interplanetary settlement, vacate the urban hospitals. (Please make sure you sign-off on the Course Completion affidavit!)
Humans all too frequently opt for the new and the newly-renovated over the older, more dilapidated dwellings, neighborhoods and urban cultures. It is far easier to ‘scoot’ than to stick with the old home front, since you don’t have to worry about all the work that re-development and re-investment entails!
Earthly Preservation is now a top priority within the Interplanetary Network. We can’t afford to let our Planet of Origin fall apart while there are still so many homeless, geriatric, disenfranchised and jobless international war veterans residing there.
To be continued ……
“In the future, everything is possible!”
