Hello SOTGC community,
Jenn Harris of (highheelgolfer) is currently in Orlando at a PGA show and sent over some pictures of the latest golfing fashions. Remember the days when you’d have to kick your own a$$ for wearing the hideous pants and shoes while playing golf? I think we still even do bar crawls to a golf theme, and the idea is to look as ridiculous as possible (these are actually kind of fun.)
I remember when my sis Susie and I decided to take lessons at Torrey Pines. I went out and got a bunch of cute golf outfits. A few weeks later my friend Joel took me to the driving range at his country club with his Father. His Dad asked how my game was and I said “I can’t play at all yet.” He said, “well, at least you look lovely.” Below are Jenn’s tips on what to wear and when.
What to wear on the golf course
Every golf course has a dress code and some are more strict than others. If you are planning to play at a public course like Torrey pines you can actually wear just about anything (within reason of course). I was shocked to find out you can play in jeans there but I wouldn’t suggest showing up in jeans if you want to be taken seriously in the business world. The best advice I can give you is to always try and look cute; just wear your longer golf skirts at the more private clubs and wear your shorter skirts at the public courses. Also wear the more fitted skirts, pants or shorts when you are planning to ride in a cart (it’s not very classy for your skirt to fly up on the way to the green). If in doubt you can always call the pro shop and ask what they consider to be acceptable attire for their course.
